Ernesto “Ernie” Guzman was elected by the citizens of this community in November 2012.
During the 4 years that Mr. Guzman was a member of the Board of Trustees for Dilley ISD, he attended several board meetings, trainings, ground breakings, conventions and through all of them grew his knowledge of different aspects of the district. With his assistance, Dilley ISD was able to pass the 2013 and 2015 Bond Elections. These bonds brought the construction of the new High School, Middle School, and Elementary, Athletic Field House, Career and Technology Facility and many more.
Also, during this time, Dilley ISD has seen the accountability and accreditation of the district improve as well as the implementation of the area’s only Early College High School program. Finally, the district’s overall financial situation is very stable even though we’ve been through the ups and downs of the oil market over the past few years.
Mr. Guzman has been an important part of the decisions that have improved the academics, finances, and facilities for our students and our district. We appreciate the time he has given and the dedication that he has shown during his time in office. It was truly a blessing to have him while he served his tenure.
