We had great results with our Region 11 High School UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest.
38 students earned a First Division Medal today and of these 38 students, 14 are heading to the State Competition on Memorial Weekend (some are in 2 events)! We had several 8th graders perform today and in this group of 14, 5 students are in the 8th grade.
Mr. Goetsch and I are incredibly proud of our students' performances, and we hope that you are as well. A student heading to the state competition had to perform an accompanied college level solo by memory (or the ensemble, with a group) and earn a First Division Rating. The rubric for a First Division Rating is incredibly difficult to achieve.
Our students heading to the UIL State competition are:
Lillibeth Mullins-Flute Solo
Alexis Valdez-Clarinet Solo
Mirabella Castaneda, Briana Gauna (8), Lillibeth Mullins, Alyssa Rios (8), Jozlin Rodriguez (8)-Flute Choir
